Purpose

Believe it or not...there is a distinct purpose for the birth of this blog.  Thousands of dollars later and many painful shots later...my husband and I are traveling to Mozambique, Africa in 21 days!  We can not wait to share the journey with our loved ones through this blog - capturing many moments through our pictures and I'm sure many emotions through our words.

I would say about 6 months ago I came home to my husband and said, "What are we doing with our lives?  How are we using our money to bless the Lord and His kingdom?  Is our life really shriveled down to us sitting in an office all day just to pay for the fancy roof we selected to put over our head?  Are we really just striving for the 2.5 kids and the white picket fence?"  Well I'm over that...!  (This seems to be a phrase my husband teases me for using quite some bit.)  Anywho, these questions I was asking of my husband really led to some powerful conversations.  We began to really challenge one another on what we are doing and why. In the whirlwind of these thoughts we emailed a few wise souls, one being Don Larson, who was called to move his whole family to live and minister in Mozambique.  Well, upon receiving our email of soul and purpose seeking, he invited us to come stay with him and his family for a week or so and the crazy, exciting, wild part is.....we said YES and AMEN!

So yes...we are on a journey to Africa in 21 days.  But more importantly we are on a journey to know more of the calling on our lives.  The truth is; I admire those who picked up and live a wild journey with the Lord - those who risk it all on a daily basis.  And I guess after three years of marriage and a full life to live I began to say to myself, that could be you too!

A Blessing Over You....

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!  I am new to this world so with gentle steps I begin to tred the waters of the blogging world.  So...what is really on my heart today is to just pray for you!  I am guilty for sitting and reading many blogs (crying through some and laughing through others) and I know how much reading the right words at the right moment are enough to get you through whatever you might be facing.

So Lord, I thank you that you adore each and every reader.  I thank you that you are a God of the impossible!  I thank you that in Jeremiah 31:3 you affirm us as your children speaking "I have loved you with an everlasting love."  You are an abundance of joy, laughter, and friendship for me and I pray that your goodness would flood all over the posts in my blog.  You are my everything.  I love you Lord. Amen.
